چکیده

Learning Objective We have presented a rare case of iatrogenic radial AVF after PCI which was unsuccessfully treated with thrombin PE, followed by a surgical resection. Radial artery is an effective access site for coronary catheterization and PCI with additional benefits of lower incidence of postprocedural complications, shorter length of hospital stay and reduced patient costs when compared to TFI access.

Arteriovenous fistula as a complication of transradial coronary angiography: a case report

UNLABELLED INTRODUCTION Iatrogenic arteriovenous fistula is a vascular condition that may result from coronary angiography. Many case reports have described arteriovenous fistula occurrence after coronary angiography using the transfemoral access route, but rarely as a complication of using the transradial approach. We report a rare case of a patient with arteriovenous fistula following tran...

Iatrogenic arteriovenous fistula in the groin presenting as cardiac failure

A patient presented with cardiac failure and investigations revealed a right femoral arteriovenous fistula (AVF) 5 weeks after the insertion of a femoral dialysis catheter for haemodialysis. No ultrasound had been used for catheter insertion. The iatrogenic AVF was repaired, and her episodes of cardiac failure ceased. It is recommended that femoral dialysis catheters are inserted using ultrasou...

Stent-Graft Treatment of Iatrogenic Vertebral Artery Pseudoaneurysm and Arteriovenous Fistula

Very rare incidence of vertebral artery pseudoaneurysm as a complication caused by central venous catheterization has been reported. The treatment strategy is dependent on location, anatomic structure and coexisting vascular injuries. The Stent-graft placement was performed in a 69-year-old woman who underwent Hemo-Cath® insertion for emergent hemodialysis complicated with right vertebral arter...

Self-expandable Graft Stenting in an Iatrogenic Fistula between Common Carotid Artery and Internal Jugular Vein

A 47-year-old woman with stage IV chronic kidney disease developed a fistula between common carotid artery (CCA) and internal jugular vein (IJV) during central catheterization of the right IJV. The patient was treated with a self-expandable graft stent, which achieved successful closure of the carotid-jugular fistula. As demonstrated in our case, self-expandable graft stents could be a feasible...

Percutaneous Closure of an Iatrogenic Aorta to Right Ventricle Fistula Acquired Following Intracardiac Repair.

Iatrogenic aortocardiac fistulae have been described rarely following intracardiac repair. This 28 year-old-male presented to our facility with dyspnea going on 20 days after closure of ventricular septal defect (VSD) and resection of subaortic membrane. A communication was noticed between the aorta and the right ventricle (RV) upon transthoracic echocardiography. Cardiac catheterisation reveal...
